The Coffs Coast NAIDOC Week celebrations are fast approaching, and OneMob Radio has announced the NAIDOC Calendar for this year.
“NAIDOC is definitely my favourite but also busiest time of the year. I will be hosting 4 events across the 6 Days this year, and whilst the NAIDOC is a little different this year. I think change is just as good as a holiday! I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone and anyone coming together to celebrate NAIDOC Week with us!” Lachlan Skinner shares.
With the 2023 NAIDOC theme is “For Our Elders”.
Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.
They are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard workers and our loved ones.
“This year’s theme is beautiful. Every year the NAIDOC Theme is a great opportunity to highlight or acknowledge the importance of different things and this year is “For Our Elders” a theme that means a lot to me and my every day, because our Elders fought the fight. I acknowledge our Elder’s survival, resistance, and strength. Our Elders are the reason we have the opportunities we have today, it is through their hard work, that we can practice culture, learn language, be strong and proud in our identity.” Lachlan also shares.
