“Our women hold deep Creation power. We come from Bularri Gawnggan.ba – the two sisters who created the ocean. Our Nan’s, Mothers & Aunties continue to carry & pass on the knowledge, stories and ways of our people. Our women have ensured our peoples survival through the darkest of times. All the strength and creation power we will ever need is already within us. ” – Kaleesha Morris

On the lead up to International Women’s Day we want to acknowledge Women within community that are smashing it!
In no particular order we showcase Local Aboriginal Women in our community who go above and beyond and we at OneMob Radio thank them for their ongoing commitment to mob.
Pictured here is Kaleesha Morris a proud Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti & Kulkalgal woman from Bangiigan (South Grafton) & Cangai
Currently the Language & School Development Project Manager at Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation .
We asked Kaleesha what her passions were and she responds “Revitalising Gumbaynggirr language, worldview & land management and connecting our people back to Country & culture”.
Happy International Women’s Day ❤
