12 Months ago today we leaped into the world of radio and brought Gumbaynggirr Country it’s own First Nations Radio Station.
OneMob has gone strength to strength with many deadly shows, hosts, guests organisations and listeners doing there bit to make this so special.
This week has allowed us to reflect on a challenging but great year of ups and downs. Never stopping our family (announcers) though as we have always been there for each other, which is a big part of why this 12 months has been so special.
Today we look back to see how far we have come but still powering forward.
We thank all the services and organisations that have sponsored us, hosted a OneMob Big Breakfast Morning, hired us for outside broadcasts, MC Gigs, Voiceover work, Workshops and Guest Speaking. Your support is always appreciated and thank you so much but also looking forward to maintaining our very strong partnerships and always looking to build new ones as well.
Special Mention to Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation, who have been there from day 1 as our auspice body. You have gone above and beyond and we really thank you for that.
Also to Blue Sky Community Services/ Groundworks Youth and Family Hub. You have really worked hard to get us into your building and we thank you for having us. We really love sharing that space with you mob. You have always welcomed us in and been so accommodating.
Program wise we have been blessed with Language Segments, Mindful Moments, Useful Information and just simply showcasing the strength of Gumbaynggirr Mob blasting through the airwaves!!
We launched an App for both Google and Apple Products!! Making your listening so much easier!!
Announcers past and present. You all have been, and still are, considered apart of this family. We got to meet some really amazing people physically and virtually but all meaningful relationships we will cherish forever.
To the current team, Jesse Shilling, Noelene Skinner, Jenny Skinner Jack Archibald, Zena Keidge, Christian Lugnan, Johno Miers, Bernard Kelly Edwards. You make me so proud. Thank you for your commitment to your shows! On behalf of ONEMOB Radio and our Listenership I thank you for always being YOU and really showcasing and celebrating our people, our stories, our achievements and our culture in your show. Stay strong mob!!
Finally our listeners and community. You are the reason we do this and although we can’t always see you or hear you, we still feel your presence and reach out to you to create conversation with you. Each week our listenership builds and we see social media engagement from people from right across this great country. We see you and we thank you!!!
Here’s to a deadly year of ONEMOB Radio. But also here’s to an unstoppable force that will continue to grow, evolve and thrive. We open our arms, hearts and minds to more mob to join us in 2022.
Happy Birthday OneMob Radio
