“Connect with your mob and decolonize your life, your mind, your heart, your home and your spirit. Be strong and courageous and call it ALL out! Find the immense beauty in your culture” – Fiona Lugnan (nee Webb)
On the lead up to International Women’s Day we want to acknowledge Women within community that are smashing it!
In no particular order we showcase Local Aboriginal Women in our community who go above and beyond and we at OneMob Radio thank them for their ongoing commitment to mob.
Pictured here is Fiona Lugnan (nee Webb) a proud Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung women.
Currently Senior Education Officer role as a 7-12 Advisor in the Aboriginal Outcomes and Partnerships Directorate with NSW Dept of Education, but also substantive position is a HSIE/English/Learning Support teacher at Coffs Harbour High School, coordinating Aboriginal programs.
We asked Fi what her passions were and she responds “Revitalizating language and culture. Inspiring and encouraging Goori young people to surround themselves in community and culture. Passionate about decolonizing education and imbedding our Goori ways of knowing”.
